MatchWatch operates as a web application managed by Chris Bennett from Christchurch, New Zealand. Questions about this policy should be directed to the contact page.
What we collect
When you use MatchWatch, the following information is collected:

How we use it
Data is used exclusively to operate MatchWatch:
- To match group members when both swipe right on identical titles
- To personalise your Discover deck and For You recommendations
- To display content available on your selected streaming services in your region
- To send notifications for nudges, suggestions, or tonight's selection
- To send transactional emails, including invitations and signup confirmations
- To improve the application based on usage patterns
The service does not use data for advertising, sell data to third parties, or share data outside services required for MatchWatch operation.
Third-party services
MatchWatch operates using these services:
- Supabase: database and authentication; data stored on AWS infrastructure
- Google OAuth: sign-in; receives name, email, and photo
- Facebook OAuth: sign-in; receives name, email, and photo
- Apple Sign In: sign-in; receives name and email
- TMDB: movie and TV show data, posters, and streaming availability; no personal data shared
- Resend: transactional email delivery; email address passed for delivery only
- Vercel: hosts the MatchWatch website and application
Your rights
You have the right to:
Data deletion
To delete your account and all associated data:
- Email via the contact page with the subject line “Delete my account”
- Include the email address on your MatchWatch account
- Deletion confirmed within 5 business days
Deleted data is permanently removed and cannot be recovered.
Children's privacy
MatchWatch is not directed at children under 13. Personal information from children under 13 is not knowingly collected. If you believe such information was inadvertently collected, contact us via the contact page for immediate deletion.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated as MatchWatch evolves. Material changes will trigger user notification via email or in-app notice. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent update.
